The president thanked Mick Stringer for the vibrantly coloured flowers, and welcomed new member Gloria and visitor Margaret.
It was announced that the next Amble will take place on 29 July, meeting at 11 at the Parish rooms, and the next - very popular - lunch meeting will be at Bodenham Arboretum on 31 July.
The president then thanked Jan Cook for hosting the Strawberry Tea last month. It was extremely successful - the sun shone on the righteous, and ‘the righteous’ enjoyed homemade cakes and scones as well as the delicious strawberries.
A total exceeding £142 was raised for the Millbrook Suite at Kidderminster Hospital. Thanks to all who attended.
The trip to Llandudno on August 28 is proving very popular and is well subscribed by members and others. Spaces on the coach are now limited.
The secretary reported a letter from the Dept of Culture, Media and Sport - asking that all turn off their lights between 10 and 11pm on the 4 August - to commemorate the beginning of World War 1.
A report on the AGM, from a member of an associated WI, is available for all to read; one of the most important outcomes is the vote in favour of organ donor registration - which was carried overwhelmingly.
Next was a brief presentation by members of Theatre 282, which has given many amateur dramatic presentations since its inception in 1966.
Finally the president introduced chef Liz Hughes (’Our Lizzy’) who gave a demonstration of three vegetarian dishes.
