Mr Azad Ali, an I.T. worker at the Treasury, was suspended for six months on full pay during an internal investigation, he has now been allowed back to work. Mr Ali (President of the Civil Service Islamic Society) posted a blog quoting an interview with an Islamic militant who held the view that it was his duty (under Jihad) to kill any British or American serviceman he might encounter in Iraq. As an Islamaphobe (not Islamanimus – see my previous blog) I seriously doubt Mr Ali is a suitable person to hold a position in the Civil Service if he is prepared, uncritically, to disseminate these views.
Is there any wonder that our allies sometimes despair at the type of person we routinely tolerate in our country and, indeed place in positions of trust?
