Motorcyclist critically injured

A MOTORCYCLIST has been critically injured in an accident in Stourport.

The incident happened on Hartlebury Road at about 6.40pm last night.

West Midlands Ambulance service received a number of emergency calls and an ambulance, an incident support officer, a BASICS doctor and the County Air Ambulance from Cosford were dispatched to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said "On arrival at the scene, crews found a motorcycle that had been in a significant collision with a car.

"The man riding the motorcycle, believed to be in his 30s, was treated at the scene for critical head and chest injuries.

"He was airlifted to Selly Oak Major Trauma Unit while receiving treatment from the BASICS doctor, who travelled on board the aircraft to the hospital.

"No other person was injured in the collision."
