BEWDLEY Town FC have given up trying to appeal against their three-point deduction in the West Midlands Regional League Premier Division after next season's line-ups were announced.
Only champions Bridgnorth Town are to be promoted to the Midland Alliance this season, which has prompted the club to abandon their appeal to the league and Worcestershire FA.
It means that Town will finish the season in third place behind Shawbury United.
Town had three points removed by the league after they were punished by the county FA for playing suspended defender John Hardiman in January.
Joint manager Craig Payton admitted that with only one side going up this season, there seemed little reason to lodge and appeal against the league's action.
"We finished the season in third place, which is a respectable position.
"We didn't want to go up as runners-up and we aim to win the league outright next season."
