A MAN sustained injuries after he was reportedly stabbed at a petrol station, in Kidderminster, after an altercation between four men.

West Mercia Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have been filling up their car at the Esso service station, in Franche Road, on Sunday, February 28, between 5pm and 6pm, and may have witnessed the argument between the four men on the forecourt. It is thought that three of the men are believed to be known to each other.

At around 5.45pm a white or silver Audi pulled into the petrol station and a verbal argument is believed to have taken place between the driver of the Audi and the driver of a white flatbed van.

The passenger in the Audi is thought to have then struck the van.

The van driver is then believed to have used his vehicle to block the Audi driver's exit. Approximately 10 minutes later, another man - driving a black 4x4 vehicle - has then arrived at the petrol station.

A further verbal fight is then reported to have taken place between the driver of the Audi, the van driver and the 4x4 driver, who had just arrived at the scene.

It is then thought the driver of the Audi and the 4x4 river have become involved in a physical fight.

The Audi driver is then thought to have used a bladed weapon to attack the driver of the 4x4. The passenger in the Audi is also thought to have attempted to assault the 4x4 driver.

The 4x4 driver has sustained a cut to his left cheek and a cut to his lip - both wounds required stitches. He also suffered lacerations to his throat, chin and hands. He also sustained a wound to his rib-cage.

The Audi has then driven off the forecourt and collected a passenger from outside the Three Crown and Sugar Loaf pub. He left the scene in the direction of Wolverley.

As all of the events have occurred, a number of customers have passed by the three men and could have witnessed the incident. The forecourt was busy at the time and CCTV shows a number of passers by who may have seen the incident.

Detective Constable Hayley Cherrington, investigating officer, said: "This incident would have only lasted a few minutes, however these were busy trading times at the service station.

"It is likely that a number of people will have witnessed the altercation.

"I am keen to speak to anyone who has any information that could help with the investigation."

A 14-year-old boy, from Kidderminster, has been arrested on suspicion of affray, and a 47-year-old man, from Kidderminster, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. Both have been bailed until Tuesday, April 14.

Anyone with information that could help West Mercia Police with their investigation into the incident is asked to call 101, quoting incident reference number 552S of Sunday, February 28.
