POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was tragically killed and a woman was left fighting for her life after a crash near Kidderminster.
The fatal car crash took place on Monday (March 21) on the A450 at Shenstone between Mustow Green and Hartlebury at around 1.15pm.
The A450 was closed between the A448, in Mustow Green, and the A442, near the Droitwich Road roundabout for more than five hours while emergency services worked at the scene and recovery work continued. The A450 was reopened at around 6.30pm that evening (March 21).
A white MG had been travelling along the road when it crashed with a black Volvo that had been travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the MG, a 42-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.
The passenger of the MG, a 32-year-old woman, received injuries and was taken to Worcester Hospital.
The driver of the Volvo, a 50-year-old woman, was air lifted to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital after receiving serious injuries.
West Mercia Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash and ask for anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the vehicles leading up to the crash, to get in contact with them.
