THE fourth Stourport Vintage Steam Rally coincides with this weekend’s Flow Festival.
Stephen Crump and his wife Pat set up the rally to complete a circular route for steam enthusiasts.
Stephen explains: “I’ve got a collection of vintage tractors that I have taken to rallies for 30 years.
“Around this time we attend Bromyard, Much Marcle and Welland so Stourport seemed like a good addition.
“We host the event at our farm and after the grass has been cut for hay we start preparing the showground. Many people drive between rallies and camp over making a real holiday of it. There is a great atmosphere.”
The party at the Coney Green Farm venue starts tomorrow (Friday) night. Entertainment is provided by live bands, the Starving Rascals and Shakey Jake, and the evening costs just £2. Camping is free.
Gates open at 10am on Saturday and Sunday and the Mayor of Stourport, Councillor Jim Parish, will officially open the rally in the main area at 11am on Saturday. Stephen continues: “It’s a fun weekend out for all the family.
“There is a variety of entertainment in the main area including husky dogs, marching bands and birds of prey.
“We also have fairground rides, food stalls, a car boot, trade stalls, off road 4x4 experience and beer tent alongside the array of steam engines, organs, vintage tractors, stationary engines, commercial vehicles, cars, motorcycles and cycles.
Saturday night entertainment is provided by local bands Blind Lemon and Molly Brown. Again camping is free and tickets are £5.
The gates will be open from 10am until 5pm on both days.
Admission is £5 for adults and £2 for children. Under-fives are admitted free and family tickets are available.
Tickets are available for the live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evening.
The showground is at Coney Green Farm, Ribbesford Road, Stourport.
