AS part of its celebrations of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Church of England has launched a Big thank you project for the monarch.

The project gives people the opportunity to add personal well-wishes to the Queen by signing thank you letters displayed in Worcester Cathedral and churches around Worcestershire and Dudley.

The letter opens with a paragraph from Worcester Bishop Rt Rev John Inge thanking the Queen for “her faithful witness, gracious leadership and devoted service”.

People can record their own message of thanks and all of the pages will be sent to Buckingham Palace.

Bishop John said: “The Queen gives us a wonderful example of faithful service inspired by her Christian faith. This initiative offers a great opportunity for people to express their thanks for it and pass on their good wishes to her in this jubilee year.

“I hope that the people of our churches will spread the word throughout their communities so that as many people as possible sign the letter.”

The thank you letter is now on display in the cathedral for people to sign.

Parishes can download their copy from the diocesan website to put in church.
