SURELY it can't be true - the public notice I read in your newspaper that Bridge Street in Stourport is to close for a month for "essential carriageway repair work".
Have not the people living across the bridge, particularly in Areley Kings, suffered enough? We had months of delays whilst the bridge was being repaired and now we have a complete closure and the ramifications this will bring.
Could someone tell me who,why and how this decision was made?
Was there any consideration given to the old and infirm, schoolchildren and the hundreds of people who work in Stourport.
The alternative route is long and could be a burden to those not so well off. What about the bus service? Will that be running? Can we still walk across the bridge?
Could someone please enlighten us all who live on this side of the river?
