KIDDERMINSTER drivers have been asked to find alternative routes on their journeys through the town when Saturday's Christmas lights parade takes place.
The procession, starting at 3.15pm from the Town Hall, will travel through the centre before making it back to the Vicar Street landmark at about 4pm ahead of the big switch-on.
It will take place mostly in pedestrianised areas but temporary road closures have been set in place for Oxford Street, New Road and Bridge Street.
PC Clive Llewellyn, town centre local policing officer, said: "These roads will be closed on a rolling basis with the aim of ensuring minimum disruption to road users, whilst maintaining a safe passage for all persons taking part in the parade.
"I would advise all road users to find alternative routes if necessary for them to travel on these roads between these times, in order to minimise delays and traffic congestion."
