TWO people have been taken to hospital and a whole workforce evacuated after a toxic chemical leak at a factory in Kidderminster.
Employees of Sealine on Whitehall Road fled the building when an alarm sounded after a skin irritant was spilt at about 11.20am.
Two people were stripped and washed down at the scene by the ambulance hazardous area response team, before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital as minor casualties.
It is thought that one other person is also in hospital with minor injuries following the incident at the boat manufacturing company.
When The Shuttle arrived at the scene, the area was filled with flashing lights from five fire engines, five ambulance vehicles and police cars. A senior paramedic officer and rapid response crew also attended.
Dozens of employees watched fire fighters in specialist clothing put up a tent outside the building to deal with the spillage of Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) a colourless oily liquid used in industry which can be explosive and is a severe irritant.
More to follow.
