WYRE Forest charities and community groups received donations of up to £9,000 from a county councillor’s local fund.
Organisations that benfited from Stephen Clee’s divisional fund included Chaddesley Corbett Cricket Club, The Odell Centre in Kidderminster, 9th Kidderminster Scouts Group Spennells and Rushock Village Hall.
The Wyre Forest District councillor for Bewdley and Arley also nominated The Emily Jordan Foundation, Night Stop Wyre Forest, Wyre Forest Sports Partnership and Wyre Forest Young Voices to receive funds.
The Conservative also chose Kidderminster Harriers Football Club, Wyre Forest Mentor Link and Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre to receive some of the money.
He said: “I met some of the groups and I was so impressed at how they help other people from all age ranges to do something to better themselves. They are all very worthy organisations and play a very important role in educating and supporting groups across my county division. I am delighted a small amount of my locally determined funds will help make their New Year a great success.”
