COLIN Gordon hailed relegated Harriers’ encouraging display against promotion-chasing Dover at Aggborough yesterday.
Keith Lowe scored in a 1-1 draw where the hosts repelled heavy pressure from the visitors, who booked their play-off place with a point.
“It shows you the level we’ve got to, and I’ve just said that to the players in the changing room,” said the chief executive.
“Dover are the form team since January - we work on a league table for the last 20 games of the since, when we came in, and they’re second only to Cheltenham.
“If that’s the level, then we are at that level and probably higher, but for a couple of positions.
“So we’ve got to be proud, because we can compete… and we have to take this positivity into next season.”
The draw saw Kidderminster make it just one defeat in eight matches, a positive end to a testing season.
“Dover had chances and Dean Snedker made two good saves in the first half and one or two late on,” added Gordon, who is looking after the team until new boss John Eustace returns from a trip to Qatar and takes the reins.
“But we’ve missed some good chances, haven’t we?
“I was really pleased with the performance.
“Last week Barrow stopped us from playing out from the back but we worked on something in training and Sneds has been really brave… everyone has taken the ball.
“I was pleased and proud but we know what we need to do going forward.
“There were a lot of good things and I only wish we could have had this run earlier in the season.”
