THERE have been nine coronavirus deaths recorded at Worcestershire hospitals in recent days.
NHS figures reveal the Covid related deaths recorded for county hospitals in the week up to January 21, while Public Health England (PHE) data shows the recent falls in coronavirus cases.
Eight deaths were recorded at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust sites - Worcestershire Royal Hospital, the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital.
It means the trust's total has moved to 926.
There was a further death at the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust with its total rising to 65. That is the first recorded death at the Health and Care NHS Trust trust in more than a year.
It means in total there have been 991 Covid-related deaths in county hospitals during the pandemic.
In comparison, in the week up to January 14, there were three deaths recorded in Worcestershire hospitals.
Latest NHS data also shows a total of 84 people were in hospital in Worcestershire with Covid-19 on Friday, January 21, including seven people in intensive care.
In comparison, on January 13, there were 75 people in Worcestershire hospitals with Covid-19 and three people in intensive care.
Meanwhile the PHE data shows new coronavirus cases in Worcestershire were at 6,039 in the week up to January 16, a drop of 30.3 per cent on the previous week.
Worcester saw a drop of 23.5 per cent in the seven days up to January 16, with 1,109 cases.
Malvern Hills dropped 31 per cent to 580 cases.
Wychavon, which includes Evesham and Droitwich, was down 29 per cent to 1,180 cases.
Wyre Forest, which includes Kidderminster, saw a drop of 31.4 per cent to 1,251 cases that week.
Bromsgrove had 1,078 cases recorded that week, a drop of 30.5 per cent.
Redditch saw the biggest drop in the county, down 37.2 per cent to 841 cases.
The latest vaccination figures, up to January 21, show 87 per cent of Worcestershire adults have had a first dose of a Covid vaccine, 81.7 per cent have had a second, while 67.4 per cent have had a booster.
