THERE has been a rise in the number of people being treated for coronavirus in Worcestershire hospitals.
The latest NHS figures show there were 117 people in Worcestershire hospitals with Covid-19 on April 1, the latest available day of data.
The figures also show there was one person is in intensive care with Covid-19 on that day.
In comparison, around a month ago on March 10, there were 95 people in county hospitals - Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Kidderminster Hospital and the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch - and one person in intensive care.
Latest NHS figures also reveal that Worcestershire Acute NHS Hospitals Trust has reached a milestone figure.
The data, up to Friday, April 1, shows that the total numbers of deaths at the trust sites has now reached 1,003.
Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust total is at 69, meaning in total there have been 1,072 deaths in county hospitals during the pandemic.
Public Health England (PHE) figures show there were 5,871 cases in county in the week up to March 27 - a rise of 6.3 per cent on the previous week.
Worcester saw a rise of 17.4 per cent in the seven days to March 27, to 1,030 cases recorded - the highest of all of the six regions.
Wychavon, which includes Evesham and Droitwich, was up 5.6 per cent to 1,431 cases.
Malvern Hills saw a drop of 2.1 per cent, to 827 recorded cases.
Redditch saw a rise of 15.8 per cent to 777 recorded cases.
And Wyre Forest, which includes Kidderminster, saw a rise of 2.9 per cent to 887 cases.
The latest vaccination figures, up to March 31, show 87.5 per cent of Worcestershire adults have had a first dose of a Covid vaccine, 83.7 per cent have had a second, while 69.5 per cent have had a booster.
