CLASSICAL music fans will be in for a treat when members of Wyre Forest Symphony Orchestra raise the roof in a concert this month.
The orchestra will perform Brahms' Academic Festival Overture, Sibelius and Brahms Symphony No 4 at the event at Kidderminster Town Hall, on Saturday, April 19.
Chris Page, the orchestra's concert manager and publicity officer, said he was looking forward to the show and was confident they would put on a "cracking" performance.
He added: "It would be nice to have a full audience to hear what's going to be an absolutely splendid concert."
The 50-strong orchestra will also be welcoming Elena Morbey, a Russian-born performer who will be joining them for the first time.
Elena, who started playing the violin at the age of five, has toured Europe with the Kharkov Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
Mr Page said: "Having Elena join us has strengthened the group. It's amazing how much better you play when you have got a really good player close to you. It raises the standard of the orchestra."
The event starts at 7.30pm. Tickets can be obtained from the Town Hall on 01562 732158 or at the venue on the night. For further information e-mail chrisjpage@btinternet.com
