MAGICAL musical comedy, The Witches of Eastwick, provided plenty of laughs and surprises at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre.
Members of West Bromwich Operatic Society took to the stage to tell the story of three unhappy divorcees - Alexandra (Sarah Moors), Jane (Rachel Davies) and Sukie (Rebecca Thorne) - who discover powers they never knew they had.
They each have problems in their personal lives and on one stormy night, they change their lives forever when they wish for a perfect man.
Along comes Darryl Van Horne (John Wetherall) from New York, who seduces them one by one and soon rumours of his behaviour are flying around the small town of Eastwick.
The three witches soon realise he is not as good as he seems and set about trying to bring an end to the power he holds over the town.
The fast-paced action kept the audience laughing with plenty of comic moments and, in particular, Van Horne's funny butler Bob (Graham Quinn), was a hit with the theatregoers.
Adding to the women's problems are busybody and gossip queen, Felicia Gabriel (Lindsey Flavell), her suicidal husband Clyde (David Hill) and teenage daughter, Jennifer (Emma Davis).
The cast members all deserve praise for this impressive production, which included dazzling special effects as well as musical numbers such as I Love A Little Town and Make Him Mine.
Among the stars of the show was 14-year-old Olivia Jones, who played Little Girl, singing several of the musical's solos.
