THEATRE 282 of Blakedown will be presenting four one-act plays in their forthcoming production.

After the Picnic, A Short Sketch, A Monster Catch and Touching Tomorrow will be staged by the cast at Blakedown Parish Rooms from March 27 to 29.

The group have been entertaining audiences in the village for more than 40 years and the stories will be full of fun and laughter.

After the Picnic will be performed by the group's award-winning youth section.

The play comes hot on the heels of their production, Around the World with Class Six, which won title of best youth play at Worcestershire Theatre Festival.

The play is an adaptation of chilling thriller, The Picnic of Hanging Rock. Set in Australia in 1900 it tells the story of a girls' school outing which ends in tragedy.

A Short Sketch is written by theatre 282 member, Mark Pugh. Mark recently wrote scripts for Radio 4's longest running radio serial, The Archers.

This short comedy centres around the world premiere of The Archers and takes a humorous look at Ambridge, the village in which it is set.

Two rival fisherman friends are the focus of A Monster Catch, with one trying to convince the other that he has caught the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

In Touching Tomorrow, by playwright Gillian Plowman, Dorcas, is looking after her brother, Vincent, who has learning difficulties.

She brings home Gemma, a homeless girl, who claims to have beenassaulted.

Dorcas invites her to stay, despite protests from her newspaper reporter friend, Kate.
