ANN BROWN Of Kidderminster, fondly known as "Anna" to all she knew, passed away very peacefully on 8th September 2020 at Brook Court Care Home, Kidderminster at the age of 86 years. Anna was born in Kidderminster on 27th July 1934. She lived and worked here, her entire life, whilst her final weeks were spent at Brook Court Care Home. Anna will be remembered for her passionate dedication to her lifelong occupation as a Speech and Drama Teacher. She is widely known for teaching ballet and many of her pupils progressed to the Royal School of Ballet in London. From the age of 6 years she learnt to dance, sing and play the piano. By the time she was 16 years, she had written a children's story for The Festival of Britain. Educated at Holy Trinity Convent in Kidderminster, she started her career by assisting, taking lead roles in productions and later producing ballets on stage under the name of Anna Brown School of Dancing. She attended Drama School and after qualifying as a teacher, returned to the same school that she was educated at, for the remainder of her working life - 60 years. She also taught hundreds of private pupils, at home, in her spare time. Anna remained a spinster and is survived by several cousins who grew up with her and enjoyed many happy lunches together.
