In the mid 1960's the Chairman of the Young Georgians Youth Club approached Stewart to ask him if he would take on the role of managing, training and coaching the club's football team. Stewart was thrilled to be asked and gladly agreed to shoulder the responsibility. Certainly this proved to be an extremely positive partnership for both parties as the future years unfolded

Stewart was focused, determined, positive and totally committed to developing the abilities initially of the Young Georgians F.C. players and more latterly of the Georgians F.C. One of his first major tasks was to organise and conduct weekly training sessions which were demanding but beneficial

Under his tutelage the team prospered for some 18 years and notable achievements included:
1) Winning the North Worcs. Football Cup, played at Aggborough, in May 1967
2) Progressing to the Sunday Premiership division in successive seasons from the lower divisions
3) Winning the Kidderminster League Cup in the 1971/72 season beating Wombourn 2-1 ( Stewart scored one of the goals )
4) Being able to hold its own as a footballing unit with the many excellent teams that competed in the Sunday Premiership division

Finally his impact was felt by all associated with the club and his presence will be sorely missed. He will forever hold a place in our hearts and minds !

Mike Andrews, Georgians Team Captain
