SOUTHERTON Mike Passed away 11th May 2023 aged 86 years. Sadly missed by Joan, his children and grandchildren. Funeral Service at Wyre Forest Crematorium at 3.30pm on Thursday 8th June. I was very sad to read Mike’s obituary. I was a member of the RBL Youth band as a young lad for several years through the 1980s. Mike was the band leader and conductor throughout my time there. I have immensely fond memories of Saturday morning practice upstairs at the RBL club in Stourport and the countless marches and fetes. One highlight was playing the Remembrance Festival at the Royal Albert Hall. Mike’s sense of humour, determination and sense of duty were immense. He was also a very talented trombonist. There are countless great memories and anecdotes I could share, but I will stop now by passing on my sincere condolences to Mike’s family and friends. He was a one off and will not be forgotten. Tim.
