AN anniversary dinner was held for former pupils of Kings Charles I School to celebrate 100 years of the Old Carolians Association.
The original boys grammar school’s association began in the same year that Kidderminster High School for Girls was founded which made the evening a joint celebration.
It is also the first year that the Old Carolians have a female president, Ann Mullard, who spoke at the event.
The existing King Charles I School came into being in 1977 when it merged with the girls’ school and Queen Elizabeth’s In Hartlebury.
Chairman of the Governors, Alan Neal, proposed a toast at the event to the school and the association with headteacher Tim Gulliver responding for the school and the president replying on behalf of the association.
