SCHOOL leavers arrived in style to their end of year proms across Wyre Forest and Shropshire.
Year 11 students from the Bewdley School, King Charles I School and Lacon Childe were dressed to impress to mark the occasion.
Bewdley and King Charles pupils took a walk on the wild side at West Midland Safari Park’s Spring Grove House while Lacon Childe pupils had a night to remember at school.
King Charles pupils had a black and white theme with matching tables and decorations. There was a sweet cart for students to tuck into their favourite pic and mix and a balloon release where each student made a wish for their future.
King Charles prom organiser Lucy Cooper said: “The students looked absolutely amazing and arrived in some lovely vehicles ranging from Porsches, Bentleys, Limos and tanks.
“It was an amazing night and the students were impeccably behaved.”
The prom-goers were also given awards for the most amazing transformation, best hair, best couple, prom king, prom queen, best dressed female, best dressed male and best dressed teacher.
Bewdley students also chose to arrive in a variety of modes of transport at Spring Grove House.
They took part in a photograph session to mark the milestone and enjoyed a sit-down dinner and awards ceremony, where subject teachers chose pupils who had excelled in behaviour, effort and work ethic The prom then moved to the Cellarz nightclub for dancing and staff were impressed with the “elegance and behaviour” of the departing year 11.
Lacon Childe pupils arrived at school by decorated golf buggy, vintage cars and a trio of motorbikes and people turned out in force to see their arrival.
Headteacher Allan Gilhooley said: “We enjoy holding this annual event to celebrate the pupils’ time and successes at Lacon Childe. Whilst we will miss them it is important for them to move on to new challenges and experiences in the world.”
The pupils enjoyed food and music by members of their year group as well as a DJ.
Kara Guise, head of Year 11 said: "It was great to see the community support for prom night. The staff support this event and I would like to thank them for all their efforts. I hope that all pupils had a great night and will remember the occasion long into the future."
