A ROAD at Rock has been closed due to a fallen tree.
Despite the worst of the storm, which battered parts of the UK last night with winds of up to 80 miles an hour, missing Wyre Forest Worcestershire County Council highways teams have shut C2191, The Greenway, Rock.
A council statement said: “According to the Met Office, conditions are now improving across the western half of England and while there is still more rain to come, the risk from very strong winds has now passed for the Midlands.
“However, there is still a risk of surface water and localised flooding this morning.
“We have been monitoring conditions over the weekend and additional highways teams, including gulley emptiers and tree removal contractors, have been on standby ready to work whenever necessary.
“Key flooding hotspots and Ford crossings were also checked ahead of the storm.”
West Mercia Police had also prepared to help local authorities deal with the storm, with the force advising those travelling to check local and national travel information.
