SHOTGUNS and ammunition have been stolen during a burglary in Rock.
The incident happened in Bliss Gate between 12.10am and 6.20am yesterday.
While the occupants were asleep, the offenders removed a bathroom window to get inside and took two shotguns from a locked gun cabinet.
Both are described as 12 gauge over and under weapons. One was a Baikal worth £250 and the other a Miroku worth £1,350. The offenders also took about 100 cartridges and a .22 air rifle with sights and light coloured stock.
Det insp John Cashion, of West Mercia Police, said: “It appears the offenders knew what they were looking for.
“They may try to sell the firearms to a specialist dealer but we are obviously concerned they could be highly dangerous if they fall into the wrong hands.
“The burglary happened in the early hours of the morning in a rural area and we are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact us.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered the chance to buy weapons of this description, or anyone who knows where they are now.”
Anyone with information should contact 101, quoting incident 44-S-211113, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
