LIVE music will be keeping participants of this year's Kemp Hospice's Midnight Walk entertained for the first time.

Folk and rock trio High Horses, of Birmingham, will perform a selection of hits to entertain walkers as they limber up for their 5km walk through the Wyre Forest on Saturday, June 21.

High Horses' Matt Povey said: “We are really looking forward to doing the gig for Kemp’s Midnight Walk, it’s a great setting and all for a good cause.

"We are really chuffed we have been asked to play and we hope to give the walkers something to hum along as they walk.”

Kemp Hospice provides free specialist care and support to patients, families and carers in Wyre Forest who are dealing with life-limiting illness and bereavement.

The hospice needs to raise £940,000 annually to enable them to continue providing the range of adult and child services they currently do, with the majority of funds coming from voluntary donations and support from the local community.

Kate Wilkinson, events fundraiser, said: “We are really excited to have a live band performing at the Midnight Walk this year, it will be great entertainment for the ladies before the walk and for the many friends and family members who come along to support them.”

The walk will begin at the stroke of midnight. Registration costs £10 per person and is open to all women 12 years and over.
