KEMP Hospice has been named by Wyre Forest Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) as its charity for this year’s beer festival.
It marks the second year the hospice has been chosen by CAMRA, after it received over £200 in donations as the named charity of last year’s event.
Alice McMahon, a Kemp Hospice fundraiser, said: “We are very grateful to Wyre Forest CAMRA for picking us as their charity of the year once again. It is a fantastic event that we are very pleased to be part of.”
The festival starts today and will run until Saturday at Kidderminster Town Hall, during which the hospice will have a stand for visitors to donate unused beer tokens as well as purchase brewery pump clips.
From 4pm today there is a session for CAMRA members, local landlords and brewers to experience what the festival has to offer. Doors open to the public at 6pm.
Tomorrow and on Saturday doors open at 11am. Entertainment throughout tomorrow will feature GazRazz, Belly Fusion and The Ranters.
The festival closes on Saturday after a Day at the Seaside theme, where visitors are invited to attend wearing beach clothes.
There will also be entertainment on offer throughout the day, as Strumpit will be playing its Gypsy Guitar with a twist.
Food will be provided for festival visitors by the nearby Swan Inn.
All proceeds will go toward Kemp Hospice’s Hospice at Home Appeal.
