THE ruling Conservatives have held on to a Malvern Hill District Council ward representing people in Mamble and Bayton, following a by-election.
Tory Chris Dell was a clear winner in the Lindridge ward by-election, which was held on Thursday last week after the resignation of the previous Conservative councillor Will Redman earlier this year.
Mr Dell said: "The feedback I'd received during canvassing was very positive, with local residents particularly valuing the fact I live and work in the ward and that I've demonstrated my commitment to the local area by having been a parish councillor for nine years. I'm very grateful to all the people who voted for me and to everyone who helped with the campaign."
The results were - Mr Dell (Con): 437 votes, Andrew Dolan (UK Independence Party): 229, Simon Winfield Gill (Liberal Democrats): 128.
