A CHURCH in Kidderminster has raised more than £760 for its local school after holding a Lent lunch meeting for the local community.
Members of Far Forest Baptist Church hold around six lunches every year, with the money being donated to various community organisations.
This is the fifth year the lunches have been held and for this year's Lent lunch, members made four different types of home-made soup and puddings.
All the money raised was passed to Far Forest Lea Memorial CE Primary School.
Tara Collins-Bullock, headteacher of the school, said: “I would like to say a very big thank you to everybody involved at the Baptist Church for their hard work and commitment in raising such an amazing amount.
“I’d also like to thank the local community for their support.”
A cheque for £762.52 was presented to Mrs Collins-Bullock from Ruth Bird, Baptist Church member, at a school assembly on June 18.
