THE amount of students achieving three or more A level results at Wolverley CE Secondary School has “significantly improved” on last year.

The school also reports that 100 per cent of students have achieved at least one level three qualification.

Headteacher, Bryn Thomas, said he was delighted with the results.

“I’m delighted that 100 per cent of our students have achieved at least one level 3 qualification which will stand them in good stead for their next steps in education.

“It’s really important that everybody leaves school with something worthwhile that they can take forward.

“This supports everybody's belief that Wolverley is an improving school.”

Top performing student at the school this year was Paige Young, who achieved an A grade in psychology, a B in law and a distinction* in dance.

Paige said: “I was very nervous this morning before I got my results, but it was amazing when I opened them, I did not expect to get what I did.

“I’ve never been the best student before – it was totally unexpected.”

Paige’s mother, Sue Young, said she was more optimistic about her daughter’s grades after helping her with hours of revision.

“I knew she’d do well as she’s put in so much work in the past few years,” she said.

“Paige isn’t one to blow her own trumpet, but I knew she had it in her as she’s far more knowledgeable than she gives herself credit for.”

Paige will start studying psychology at the University of Worcester next month, with the hope of landing her dream job of a child psychologist.

She added: “I’m really looking forward to it, definitely."
