A FUNDRAISING day of countryside strolling and steam train travel will be “one to remember”.
The River Severn Walk, which has been organised by Kemp Hospice, will take place on Sunday, September 14 in support of the care and bereavement charity.
Participants will journey along the River Severn from Bewdley to Highley by foot, before returning aboard a heritage locomotive.
Kate Wilkinson, an events fundraiser at Kemp Hospice, said: “The River Severn Walk is always a fabulous event with picturesque villages, friendly people and an enjoyable return journey on the steam train back to Bewdley.
“So why not join us and make it a day to remember?”
Walkers will meet at the Severn Valley Railway station in Bewdley at 9am before following the river north through the beautiful Worcestershire countryside to Highley, where they will be rewarded with a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake.
Weary legs can then be rested during the return journey on one of the visitor attraction’s steam engines.
Registration costs £15 for adults and £7.50 for those aged under 16, and includes a Kemp Hospice t-shirt, refreshments and the train ticket.

Kemp Hospice provides clinical, emotional and spiritual care with practical support to those in Wyre Forest with life-limiting illnesses. It also supports those that have been bereaved.
The hospice needs to raise £940,000 annually to continue to provide these services, the majority of which comes from voluntary donations and the support of the local community.
