FOUR students of Stourport High School and Sixth Form Centre have been thanked for their time volunteering at a local children’s charity.

Alice Liggins, Ben Owen, Tia Farley and Beth Thomas have all been volunteering in the Mentor Link store, in High Street, Stourport.

During their two weeks working in the store, the students have been processing stock, getting clothes ready to be put out on to the shop floor to be sold and polishing the furniture.

Andrea Maddocks, chief executive of the charity, has thanked the students for their help.

“The young people wanted to help a local children’s charity and we welcomed them on board,” she said.

“Our shop manager, Bridget Hood, was very impressed with their hard work and how they dealt with our customers.”

Formed in the town in 2002, Mentor Link provides weekly one-to-one support to 350 children and young people each week across Worcestershire by offering an informal ear to help improve confidence, relationships, emotional resilience and engagement.
