PUPILS at a Wyre Forest school were given an Olympic treat when they were visited by a Team GB swimmer.
Grant Turner, who competed at the London 2012 games, went to Chaddesley Corbett Endowed Primary School earlier this month, as part of the Schools Sports Programme.
He held training sessions with students, met pupils who represented the school and the Wyre Forest School Sports Partnership at the Worcestershire Schools Games and gave a talk about his career and achievements.
Sally Hall, PE Co-ordinator at Chaddesley Corbett Endowed Primary School, said: “Every child and all the staff had great fun and enjoyed Grant’s visit.
“Every child in the school took part in training sessions with Grant and listened to his inspirational talk about his achievements.
“He also talked of how every one of the children can achieve their ambitions if they work hard. “Children at the school really enjoy swimming, and over the years have competed in several galas. “Chaddesley Corbett prides itself that every child when they leave the school can swim with confidence.”
*The school will be holding two open mornings next week which will enable parents and carers looking for a place for their child in Reception in September 2015.
They will be held on Monday, October 13 and Thursday, October 16 from 9.30am to 12pm.
