TOP tips on writing stories were given to pupils at a Stourport school when a children’s author dropped in for a spot of storytelling and drama.
Year three to six children at Burlish Park Primary school were given a presentation by Luke Temple, author of the Thistlewick Island series of books.
Lynda Williams, forest school leader, said: “The children had a great morning listening to Luke talk about his experiences at school and were utterly spellbound when he started telling a story from his new Felix Dashwood series.
“They were bubbling with excitement and inspired by his enthusiasm and ideas.”
Luke spends his time travelling around the county bringing the books he writes to life with the children he meets by using audience participation, action packed drama and “laugh-out-loud” fun.
He said: “I get all the children involved in my presentations and this approach really ignites their excitement about reading and writing, and helps inspire their own creativity.
“The children from Burlish were a brilliant audience who got themselves fully involved in the day.”
