A PERFORMANCE by The Bel Canto Singers will commemorate 100 years since the start of the First World War at a Heightington Village Hall concert on Saturday, November 29.
The concert will take the audience on a musical journey beginning in 1914 and ending at the present day, featuring songs from the music halls and trenches.
It includes music that reflects the patriotism, pride and tragedy of the period, to music of the present day of hope and desire for peace.
The programme will also include poetry and musical surprises that will honour the sacrifices made by those in the conflict, as well as a two course supper and a display of material reflecting the impact of the war both nationally and locally.
Tickets to the concert, which starts at 7pm, cost £8 and can be bought by calling 01299 822987.
