STAFF at a school in Stourport were Scrooges this year after deciding not to send Christmas cards to their colleagues.
However, all is not as miserable as it seems as Burlish Park Primary School staff decided to donate the money they would have spent on the cards to Kemp Hospice.
Pastoral lead Kay Jones, who coordinated the collection of donations, said: “Kemp bereavement counsellors provide constant and invaluable support to our children and their families.
“Staff are also grateful for their support and for the excellent training received from Jackie Turner, which helped us develop our skills to provide further support for children in school who have been bereaved.”
The members of staff were able to raise a total of £200 to go towards the charities work in providing free of charge support and specialist care to patients, families and carers dealing with life-limiting illness and bereavement.
