KIDDERMINSTER shoppers were surprised by an impromptu "flash mob" by the town’s choral society.
Kidderminster Choral Society broke away from their rehearsal in the Town Hall to take their singing of the Hallelujah Chorus outside to entertain busy Saturday afternoon shoppers on December 19.
Lindsay White, choral society, said: “We wanted to share our music with the people of Kidderminster, and so a surprise “flash mob” was planned.
“We were rehearsing with Holborne Brass Band, who were happy to take part with us.
“Many people looked quite shocked, especially as it started to rain, but lots of shoppers stood by to listen.”
The society went on to perform their annual Christmas Gala Concert to a sell-out audience in the Town Hall that evening, along with the youth choirs – Wyre Forest Young Voices and Primary Chords, as well as Holborne Brass.
Their next concert – a charity concert with six other local choirs – will take place on Friday, February 5, at 7.30pm, at the Town Hall.
