A WOMAN has died after a two-vehicle crash on a busy Kidderminster road at the weekend.
The fatal crash took place on the Birmingham Road, A456, near Hodge Hill, in Kidderminster, at around 3.30pm on Saturday, June 11, between a orange Renault Clio and a black Mazda.
The woman in her 80s, who is yet to be identified, was confirmed dead at the scene.
She suffered serious internal injuries and a cardiac arrest. Her next of kin have been informed.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "When we arrived at the scene the lady was in cardiac arrest.
"She received advanced life support at the scene, but it became apparent she could not be saved and was confirmed deceased at the scene.
"The patient in the other vehicle, a man in his 20s, suffered injuries to his face and a number of fractures. He was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital."
A spokesman from West Mercia Police added: "The driver and the only occupant of the Renault, a woman in her 80s, suffered serious internal injuries and a cardiac arrest, she sadly died at the scene.
"The driver of the Mazda, a man in his 20s, suffered serious facial injuries, and his passenger, a man also in his 20s, received minor injuries - both were treated by ambulance services before being taken to hospital.
"Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or saw either of the vehicles, and the manner in which they were being drive, before the collision occurred."
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue crews from Kidderminster and Bewdley fire stations also attended the incident and extricated the woman from the vehicle.
