This week, Kidderminster College is launching a range of t-shirts for students to buy as a souvenir of their time at the college. The t-shirts, which carry the same funky design theme as the college's marketing literature, are a step away from the traditional college ties and scarves found in most colleges and universities.

Denise Brownridge, marketing officer at Kidderminster College explains: "Following requests from our students for souvenirs of college life, we decided to produce a range of clothing for them to purchase. Having taken the students' views into account, we decided to move away from the boring college scarf and sweatshirt and produce some specially designed t-shirts which subtlety show off the college's brand"

Natasha Giles, from the college's design agency, Wavemonkey, said: "When I developed the design theme for Kidderminster College two year's ago I created a scheme that was not only contemporary but appealed to the students. This was so well received that the t-shirts are an extension of that design. They feature subtle images and representations which are used throughout the college's branded materials but don't actually use the college logo or name on them.

"I hope the t-shirt is attractive enough to boost the students' street cred and they become the coolest item to be seen in around the college!" concludes Natasha.

The t-shirts, which will cost only £6 and be available in the college shop, come in two different colours, blue and black; the blue design uses circles representative of the college's logo and the black one develops the imagery used throughout the promotional materials produced for the college this year. If successful, the college hope to extend their range of promotional items to include baseball caps, bags and key rings.

"The new college t-shirts are cool and I will definitely buy one!" said enter one of model's names a enter course title student at the college. "The best thing about it is that it doesn't look geeky as it hasn't got Kidderminster College written in huge letters across the front - both designs are brilliant they're kind of abstract - I like them!"

Denise concludes: "The t-shirts will help us develop our brand and visual identity throughout the college, whilst acting as a lasting memory for students of the college, especially at this time of year when students are completing their courses and moving into employment or onto University - I hope they enjoy wearing them!"
