It’s a record year for A-level pass rates at Hagley Catholic Sixth Form.
A huge 99.4% of all entries secured success at Advanced Level this summer. Students and staff worked tremendously hard to ensure that almost half of all grades awarded were at grade B or higher. Outstandingly, over 1 in 5 of all A Level qualifications attained the highest A* & A grades, continuing to build on our successes over the last three years, as a result of strategic developments within the Sixth Form. Overall, more than 72% of all results awarded are A*-C. These fantastic results represent a dynamic shift in the standards of teaching & learning in our Sixth Form.
Students maintained our notable record of securing amongst the very best Average Point Score per student in Worcestershire, with over 382 points ‘in the bank’ for all students. This means that we anticipate almost a third of our students to be immediately accepted into the Russell Group university of their choice. Indeed, these results mean that over 99% of our students are able to progress onto Higher Education; a phenomenal achievement!
Headteacher, Mr Ted Hammond, says of the results “I am delighted that the high standards of previous years have been maintained and that almost all of our students have secured the grades needed to continue their journey along the life-long path of learning.”
Mrs Kesner Morris, Director of Sixth Form, says “We are really proud of everything our students have achieved, both those things reflected by these wonderful results, and everything else that enriches their curriculum beyond the classroom.”
