A BLAKEDOWN great-grandmother died as the result of an accident following a car crash in Kidderminster, an inquest heard.
Naomi Gladys Twaite, 83, of Churchill Lane, died after she was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Birmingham Road, the A456, at around 3.30pm on Saturday, June 11.
Mrs Twaite was pulling out of the garden centre at Hodge Hill Nursery, in her orange Renault Clio, and crashed with another car, a black Mazda, travelling on the same road.
She suffered serious injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.
An inquest held by Worcestershire Coroner’s Service, which opened on June 16, and closed on Monday, October 31, ruled she died as the result of an accident.
The medical cause of death, confirmed at the inquest, is listed as multiple chest and neck injuries.
Her heartbroken relatives paid tribute to the “amazing” mother and grandmother, shortly after her death.
A statement from the family said: "Naomi, who was known to family and friends as Pip, was an amazing mother and grandmother of two and a great-grandmother.
"She always thought of others and took great pleasure in organising the transport for the Kidderminster branch of the Worcestershire Blind Association.
"She was also a keen member of the Blakedown W.I and local Art group."
