A WYRE Forest band will be helping a Stourport venue raise much-needed funds – by performing a show in it.
Up4it, made up of musicians from Stourport and Bewdley, will be at the Civic Hall on April 14.
The show is a fundraiser to help volunteers at the hall who are looking to re-cover their old looking, theatre style chairs.
A spokesman for the band said their main ethic is to have fun on stage as they perform a variety of numbers from the Stones, Alannah Myles, Eddie Cochran and even a bit of disco and Abba.
The band is made up of singer Kate Smart, guitarists Kevin Hastie and Jim Connolly and bassist Geoff Booth.
Supporting them will be JDR (Jack Dave and Ray) who will be performing songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the door for £5 each or two for £8. They can be bought from the Civic Hall Box Office on 01299 823339, by visiting the venue on Tuesday to Fridays from 10am to 2pm and Saturday from 11am to 1pm or via the website www.thecivicstourport.co.uk.
