GENEROUS lawyers from across Wyre Forest will be giving their time and support for a popular scheme aimed at helping a Kidderminster hospice.

This year’s Make a Will Week will take place at Kemp Hospice between Monday, May 21 and Friday, May 25.

Participating solicitors will not charge people when they write a simple will but instead ask them to make a donation to Kemp.

If the will is not a simple one and specialist advice or tax advice is required, the chosen firm will advise of the full costs prior to agreeing any instructions.

The Wyre Forest legal firms who are proudly supporting KEMP this year are: mfg Solicitors LLP, Norris and Miles Solicitors, Painters Solicitors, Talbots Law, Thursfields Solicitors, Westons Wills and Probate and Wright Solicitors incorporating Marion Evans.

But only a limited number of appointments will be available so people are advised to book early by contacting firms and mentioning ‘Kemp Make a Will Week’.

Cathy Sloan, Kemp’s head of fundraising, said: “We understand the importance of preparing for the future of our loved ones, ensuring that it is them who benefit after our death.

“Making your Will is a very important part of your financial planning, yet incredibly one in three people die without having made this essential provision.

“Make a Will Week is so popular and we regularly take calls from people throughout the year asking when it will be taking place. It’s such an important thing for people to do and I urge as many people to take up this fantastic opportunity.”

She added: “We are so grateful to all the solicitors taking part once again this year, their support is phenomenal.

“They are giving their time, free of charge, to update or write a will; and in return all we ask those who take part is to make a donation to Kemp Hospice. Last year’s campaign raised almost £10,000.”
