YOUNGSTERS are being asked to name a spectacular new feature that will form part of the annual Stourport Christmas Lights switch-on and Three Kings Parade.
The 8ft by 8ft giant duck will take pride of place next to Humphrey the giant Lock Monster situated in Villeneuve Gardens in the town.
Children are being given the chance to name the feature, through forms in the official event programme, and win a family day out at Playland Fun Park in Stourport. The programme will be available in shops around the town.
The parade will take place on Friday, November 23 between 4pm and 7pm, and will feature pupils from Stourport schools carrying the three kings alongside bands and performers.
And the celebration will end with the traditional spectacular firework display at around 7pm.
Kidderminster singing sensation Richard Ryan, who featured in this year’s X Factor, will be the special guest flicking the switch for the lights.
Organiser Pete Roberts said the event is set to be the biggest held in the town and is appealing for more people to take part.
He said: “We are looking for buskers, fire-eaters, stilt walkers and other performers to come forward and join the parade. This year’s event is set to be one of the biggest yet.”
Anyone interested in performing at the parade can contact Mr Roberts on 01299 879340.
