A RECYCLING bin has been set up in Bewdley in an effort to save more crisp packets from landfill, while also raising money for charity.
Bewdley Cobblers is collecting people's empty packets to be sent to US recycling firm TerraCycle, after a social media campaign urging Walkers to make its packaging recyclable saw customers attempting to return their empty bags in the post.
The drop-off facility in Load Street will see a donation made to the MS Society for every packet that is recycled.
Shop owner Brynn Hazelwood, who has been diagnosed with a mild form of MS, said: "We are always looking at ways of recycling and helping the community.
"Our recycling bin for old shoes and boots is tremendously successful and we are now delighted to be partnering TerraCycle and Walkers crisps to offer this recycling scheme locally.
"Not only does it mean we reduce our waste, but a donation is also made to our charity MS Society for every packet recycled so it really is win win."
Any brand crisp packets can be dropped off at Bewdley Cobblers at 17 Load Street during store open hours.
