KIDDERMINSTER theatre enthusiasts are invited to a performance of the classic Shakespeare play Macbeth, but with a twist.
A production of Elsie and Norm's Macbeth, a play by John Christopher-Wood, will be performed at the Rose Theatre Studio from Monday April 10 to Saturday March 13.
The play follows Elsie and Norman Grimethorpe, who are a fed up with their middle-aged, humdrum existence.
Ditching their usual rituals of playing Trivial Pursuit and watching re-runs of Dallas on Saturday nights, they decide to put on their very own performance of Macbeth.
Set against the back drop of their trusty sideboard and collection of Royal memorabilia, Elsie and Norm hilariously capture the 'essence' of the play, attempting to perform all the parts themselves, with the help of some house plants; two stuffed pandas and a fine collection of tartan dressing gowns.
The production stars Louise Fulwell as Elsie, Tom Rees as Norm, and is directed by Sue Downing.
Tickets for the show are available online at www.rosetheatre.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01562 743745.
