A STOURPORT teen has danced her way to the top to be crowned world champion in an international competition.
Hollie-Mae Reedman, aged 13, came first in the under 14 World Irish Dance Association championships, which were held in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, during the Easter weekend.
The superstar dancer has been part of the Katie Collins School of Irish Dance, based in Kidderminster, Kinver and Kingswinford, since she was five years old.
The school took a total of 18 dancers to the competition in Eindhoven, competing in both team and solo categories.
The dance school founder Katie Hulagu said: "We were aiming for a top five finish after she was placed ninth last year.
"As they read the results out in reverse order as soon as she was in the final five we were all delighted but the moment it got down to the final two and she was called out as world champion - I was over the moon.
"All of our dancers were there to support her and we are all so pleased for her. She has been working so hard this past year so it definitely paid off."
The school also saw success in the figure choreography team championship, where 12 dancers secured fifth place, and Molly Fowler, aged 19, also placed on the podium with a fourth place finish overall and 1st place in her light shoe round in the ladies under 20 Championships.
Katie added: "We’re all looking forward to celebrating our successes at our worlds party but first Hollie-Mae and her fellow pupils are training hard for the All Ireland Championships in Limerick in June."
