TWO people have been arrested after a stolen car was driven at a police officer.
The pair remained in custody last night (Monday) after the Audi was recovered by police in Kidderminster.
Worcestershire's Operations Patrol Unit (OPU) said an armed response vehicle (ARV) was "rammed" by the stolen car, before the vehicle "tried to run over" an officer.
This sparked a police chase, which ended in two people being arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
The driver was also arrested for failing a roadside drug test.
The vehicle, which was suspected stolen from Birmingham and on cloned plates, suffered substantial damage including a shattered window.
OPU Worcestershire posted on Twitter: "We’ve just located this stolen Audi From @WMPolice in Kidderminster.
"It rammed the ARV and tried to run over an officer so tactical contact made to resolve the pursuit.
"Both occupants in custody"
The pair are set to be interviewed today.
