BEWDLEY has welcomed their new mayor for the year following an annual meeting.
Councillor John Byng was initiated into the role during a mayor-making event at the Guildhall on Friday, May 10.
The newly elected mayor said: "I am very honoured and proud to represent Bewdley. I will do all I can to promote the town.
"I look forward the role with great enthusiasm, and chairing the new town council."
Councillor Byng will be supporting the local branches of Age UK and Guide Dogs for the Blind as his chosen charities.
Councillor Laurence Kearns has been made deputy mayor.
