POLICE are appealing for witnesses following reports that a number of vehicles driving on a Stourport road were shot at with pellets.
Vehicles driving along Worcester Road have reportedly been randomly targeted and hit by pellets or ball bearings from what is believed to be a BB gun or similar to cause damage.
The incidents were reported between Friday, May 17 and Monday, May 20, with police investigating each of the incidents which are believed to be linked.
Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector Jake Wright from West Mercia Police said: "Thankfully no one has been injured as a result of these incidents but we are appealing to the public for their help in identifying those responsible.
"Shooting any weapon in a public place without the appropriate safeguards in place creates significant risk to the wider community, but to allow pellets or ball bearings to strike passing cars - whether done so intentionally or not - is very dangerous.
"While investigations are ongoing, local officers have been patrolling the area making door-to-door enquiries and offering reassurance to the local community.
"I would urge anyone with any information to contact my local policing team as soon as possible to allow us to take appropriate action."
People with any information relating the incidents are asked to call police on 101, quoting the number 777s of 18 May.
